Our Story
Eddie Muscat (FIPA FFA) established Mayfields Business Advisors in 2006 to service small and medium sized companies, their directors and accountants.
Mayfields was created with a vision to provide a personal, affordable and trustworthy alternative to the large insolvency firms. To enable directors and accountants of small and medium sized companies to benefit from their broad, grass roots accounting and business experience.
Eddie’s career included senior executive positions in corporate and commercial businesses, before entering the insolvency field and working for ASIC and PPB (now part of PWC). In fact, Eddie was introduced to insolvency through his employer’s own business failure. How many accountants or insolvency practitioners really know what its like to walk in your shoes?
Following a 25 year career specialising in policy, accounting and services to government, government enterprises and NFP’s, Andrew Muscat (MIPA AFA) joined Mayfields in 2013 as Liquidation Manager.
Together they have experienced what it’s like to manage a business in good times and bad. They have achieved goals, built new business and worked with exceptional people. They also understand the worries that come with preparing the next payroll under tight cashflow pressures, making the tough decisions, or re-focusing resources to take a business in a new direction.
Mayfields is proud to have assisted their clients through some of the most challenging times in their business, and in their lives.
About our Principal
Eddie Muscat is the Principal of Mayfields Business Advisors and a Liquidator registered with ASIC.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA), Fellow of the Certified Practicing Accountants (FCPA) and Fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants (FIFA).
Eddie has over thirty years of experience holding senior and executive positions in corporate and commerce before entering the insolvency field.
Eddie specialises in insolvency, reconstruction and turnaround of SME businesses and is supported by a small dedicated team.
Andrew spent over 20 years working in and with NFPs, and Government as an Accountant, Program and Policy Manager. Much more than the numbers guy, he was hands on managing, restructuring and improving programs.
Since joining Mayfields in 2013, Andrew has enjoyed and adapted to the speciality of insolvency and the diversity of its experiences. Whether working with mum and dad businesses, creditors or larger corporations, Andrew aims to provide clarity of communication, certainty of process and confidence in our expertise.
Andrew is an insolvency and restructuring specialist. He has a B.Bus (Accounting). MIPA. AFA.
